We hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. It has certainly been an adjustment for us since we are such social individuals. Getting to meet new people is one of the aspects we love most about our real estate careers. Getting through the coronavirus pandemic won’t be easy for anyone, but New Yorkers are tough and we will eventually get through this by working together.
Words of Wisdom
We’d like to share an article we read on fastcompany.com that resonated with us during these uncertain times. It is entitled “5 Ways Emotional Intelligence Can Help Us Through the Coronavirus Crisis” and was posted back in mid-March. Several weeks later and much deeper into the crisis, these words still resonate strongly with us. We think many of you out there will find this advice helpful.
Here is a link to the full article:
In the article, the author offers 5 simple, yet effective tips on how all of us can deal with this situation. It’s all about finding ways to be productive, stay positive and focus on what matters. Here is one of our favorite excerpts:
Focus on What We Can Control
While there is much out there that is beyond our control, there is a great deal that we can do to alleviate unnecessary risk. We can take back some level of control by staying focused on the areas that we are able to manage in our own lives and those of our families, friends, and communities. Talk to those close to you to see what you can do to help.
The author also talks about the importance of expressing your emotions, helping your children navigate their emotions, finding news sources you can trust and making creative use of the extra downtime many of us now have. These are tips that we have found helpful and inspirational and we hope you do to.
We’d welcome your thoughts on the article and please let us know if there is anything we can help you with. A lot of people have questions about New York real estate. What’s happening in the market? Where are we headed? What can I be doing now? How can I be better prepared to buy or sell when things return to normal?
Feel free to reach out to us anytime and we’ll be happy to help answer any real estate questions you have.
